Snowshoeing

Join the staff of the Nature Discovery Center for guided snowshoe adventures on the top of Vail Mountain. See and learn about the wild side of Vail in the most pristine of settings.  All ages welcome, but we recommend adults and kids over 10.

Gore Range Snowshoe Hikes
From animal tracks to the mountain pine bark beetle, the Nature Discovery Center is your source for all things wild - including guided snowshoe tours with an expert naturalist.  Located in an all-seasons yurt at Eagle's Nest, the NDC is open Sunday and Monday from 10 a.m. - 4 p.m., and Tuesday through Saturday from 10 a.m. - 6 p.m.  Guided snowshoe tours take place daily at 11 a.m. and 3 p.m.  Moonlight snowshoe tours occur on January 22, 23 and 24, and February 20, 21 and 22.  Reservations required.  For information, reservations and custom programs call 970-754-4675.  The Nature Discovery Center is a partnership between Gore Range Natural Science School, Vail Resorts, and the US Forest Service.

Create your own adventure!  Unguided hourly snowshoe rentals are available Tuesday-Saturday after 2 p.m. from the Adventure Ridge Pavilion for $5 an hour.
